Learn How to Crave Healthy Foods

Food is your body’s fuel. Premium fuel provides the capacity for premium output. Budget fuel provides for minimal productivity. And, well, if we stop eating completely, odds are we will die within a month. If we stop drinking water and eating completely, odds are we will die within a week.

Obviously we understand the importance of eating and drinking as a survival technique; but what about those of us who are interested in more than just surviving? What about those of us who are ready to breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer person? What should we be eating and drinking and how can we change our attitude about what we ingest? How can we begin to crave healthy foods?

Tanya Langis suggests that we use a slow, determined process to train our bodies to eat healthier. This way we won’t constantly be thinking about the foods we enjoyed eating previously. But we must be determined to choose the food that will provide us with the best nutrition and offer us the most energy and vitality. Abraham Lincoln stated that we should “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”

The key to breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer body is to break debilitating habits. The habit of eating certain unhealthy and innutritious foods often comes early in life. That means that the habit is often difficult to break and requires persistence and dedication.  Start by identifying current cravings for healthy food and unhealthy food.

Write down the unhealthy foods such as pizza, candy, donuts, gum, chocolate, cake, pie and ice cream, on the left side of the page and all the healthy foods you enjoy on the far right side of the page. If you’re unsure as to whether the foods you crave are healthy or not, contact Tanya Langis and she will tell you.

Next rate your foods honestly as to the level of craving you currently with 0 (zero) being no desire whatsoever and 10 (ten) being you think you can’t live without it. Take a good look at the list of unhealthy foods and make a firm decision that none of them will keep you from achieving your goal of becoming healthier and slimmer. Then decide to replace the unhealthy food by eating more of the healthy foods that you enjoy.

Now that you have a list of your worst enemies and your best friends when it comes to eating habits, decide which healthy foods you would like to eat more of and which of the unhealthy foods you had better learn to live without.

Do not throw away this list! Tape it to your fridge. Scan it and use it as your computer’s wallpaper. Take it with you when going shopping. Review it monthly to determine how your cravings have changed. Do you now like fruits more than you used to? Do you not crave chocolate as much as you did before?

It is critically important that we make ourselves aware of these small victories. Recognizing the slow but certain changes your eating habits will assist you in overcoming your unhealthy cravings once and for all, allowing you to breakthrough to a healthier, happier, slimmer you!
