How to Renovate Your Bathroom in New Jersey

You want to remodel your bathroom, but you don't want to break the bank. But that's a distinct possibility with any home renovation project. According to Remodeling magazine’s 2005 Cost vs. Value Report, it costs an average of $10,500 to remodel a bathroom, more than 100% of which should be recovered if you end up selling the home.

So renovating your bathroom doesn’t just improve the look and feel of one of the most important rooms in your home, it’s a good investment. If you want to renovate your bathroom into something above average, an upscale bathroom remodel is estimated to cost a little over $26,000.

Most average remodels include putting in a toilet, adding a tub with a tile surround, installing an integrated solid-surface double sink and vanity, a recessed medicine cabinet, a ceramic tile floor and vinyl wallpaper.

An upscale bathroom remodel can include expanding the room an additional 8 square feet into existing space, adding a larger window, moving fixtures such as the toilet and replacing them with high-end models, a 4’x6’ tiled sit-down shower and or a deep, jetted tub, a bidet, stone countertops in the vanity with two sinks, a built-into-the-wall linen closet, tile floor, ambiance lighting, an exhaust fan among other amenities.

In selecting a general contractor such as Craig Custom Builders* in New Jersey, get bids and be sure to ask for and check references. See how satisfied his or her previous customers are. To save money, you might consider doing some of the demolition yourself; you can even hold a demolition party to garner help from friends. Also compare buying the materials yourself with the cost of the professionals supplying them. Many general contractors get discounted parts but most tend to mark up prices too, so check both options.

If you plan carefully, you'll end up with a beautiful, renovated bathroom that you can enjoy for years and years.

Learn How to Crave Healthy Foods

Food is your body’s fuel. Premium fuel provides the capacity for premium output. Budget fuel provides for minimal productivity. And, well, if we stop eating completely, odds are we will die within a month. If we stop drinking water and eating completely, odds are we will die within a week.

Obviously we understand the importance of eating and drinking as a survival technique; but what about those of us who are interested in more than just surviving? What about those of us who are ready to breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer person? What should we be eating and drinking and how can we change our attitude about what we ingest? How can we begin to crave healthy foods?

Tanya Langis suggests that we use a slow, determined process to train our bodies to eat healthier. This way we won’t constantly be thinking about the foods we enjoyed eating previously. But we must be determined to choose the food that will provide us with the best nutrition and offer us the most energy and vitality. Abraham Lincoln stated that we should “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”

The key to breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer body is to break debilitating habits. The habit of eating certain unhealthy and innutritious foods often comes early in life. That means that the habit is often difficult to break and requires persistence and dedication.  Start by identifying current cravings for healthy food and unhealthy food.

Write down the unhealthy foods such as pizza, candy, donuts, gum, chocolate, cake, pie and ice cream, on the left side of the page and all the healthy foods you enjoy on the far right side of the page. If you’re unsure as to whether the foods you crave are healthy or not, contact Tanya Langis and she will tell you.

Next rate your foods honestly as to the level of craving you currently with 0 (zero) being no desire whatsoever and 10 (ten) being you think you can’t live without it. Take a good look at the list of unhealthy foods and make a firm decision that none of them will keep you from achieving your goal of becoming healthier and slimmer. Then decide to replace the unhealthy food by eating more of the healthy foods that you enjoy.

Now that you have a list of your worst enemies and your best friends when it comes to eating habits, decide which healthy foods you would like to eat more of and which of the unhealthy foods you had better learn to live without.

Do not throw away this list! Tape it to your fridge. Scan it and use it as your computer’s wallpaper. Take it with you when going shopping. Review it monthly to determine how your cravings have changed. Do you now like fruits more than you used to? Do you not crave chocolate as much as you did before?

It is critically important that we make ourselves aware of these small victories. Recognizing the slow but certain changes your eating habits will assist you in overcoming your unhealthy cravings once and for all, allowing you to breakthrough to a healthier, happier, slimmer you!

Ideas for Remodeling Your Basement in New Jersey

Do you want to take your unfinished cement walled basement, renovate it and make it into the ultimate finished basement? You can with the help of Craig Custom Builders in New Jersey.

Or you can take the road my brother took and have a friend do it. Thirty years ago his friend would have finished the job in a month. But, as it is, six months have now gone by since they started the project of finishing his basement. And although my brother is only paying his friend $10 an hour, it might be another six months before the basement is completely restored.

There are many benefits of having professionals assist in the renovation of your basement. You can expect quality work that is guaranteed. You can expect them to suggest nuances that you may have wanted, but hadn’t thought of doing. You can expect them to be quick and thorough.

For example, imagine a custom built mahogany bar sporting granite countertops. Add to the remodel a raised tin ceiling that sets the tone for the media room. Combine that with cozy, comfortable couches facing a large screen TV surrounded by your favorite sports memorabilia. This is some of the fabulous work you can expect from Craig Custom Builders in New Jersey.

Keep imagining for a moment. Can you see the billiard table adjacent to the game table where guests can sit on the large custom built, upholstered bench seat and take in the action?  These professionals not only had the vision to design this, but the ability to remodel a New Jersey basement to the exact specifications of their design.

Perhaps you would like to renovate your basement with glass doors that lead to the home gym for those 'must do' daily workouts with weights and cardio equipment. This might seem an easy task, but outside lighting and entrance, cable outlets and TV/Stereo placement is critical to the organization of the equipment. Having a changing room with shower, Jacuzzi and/or sauna adjacent or within the room is not an unusual request either. With Craig Custom Builders in New Jersey, anything is possible.

One suggestion would be to provide overnight guests the privacy of their own bedroom with a vanity sink room separate from the toilet and shower room. It sure beats making them pull out the living room sofa sleeper. Any or all of these ideas can turn your cement walled basement into something you can be proud to own.

Are You Committed to Breakthrough to a Healthier, Slimmer You?

How committed are you to overcoming any personal, existing challenges so that you can breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer you? Let’s discuss four different areas and your commitment in each area.

State of Mind

What is you mind set concerning your current capability to become healthy? One of the key ingredients in change is the belief that you can change. Sure, it is beneficial that friends and family who you revere and who revere you believe in your abilities to reach your goals. But at the end of the day, and, more importantly, at the break of dawn, it is critical that you believe 100% that you can breakthrough and become the person you want to become. Believe it, and you will achieve it.

Nutrition

There are many things to discuss when it comes to nutrition. I just spoke to a guy last night who replaced smoking and drinking with grapefruit. In the last two months he has lost almost 30 pounds. The grapefruit, he says, is filling him up too, so he doesn’t want to eat as much. Everyone knows what is bad and what is good. Life coaches like Tanya Langis can assist further in this area. The key is to do what your heart and soul is telling you to do and to not do what your mind and body, through a string of debilitating, bad habits, is telling you to do. Are you committed enough to yourself to stop drinking soda pop, for example?

Physical Health/Fitness

How committed are we to achieve the ultimate level of health at any age? At the age of 46, I ran my first marathon last year. But just because I finished it, doesn’t mean I’m finished running? No! I have a goal to beat my time this year by 40 minutes. And I will accomplish my goal. One good suggestion, besides getting a fitness coach from someone like proactivewellness.com, is to tell friends and family about your goals. They will ask you how you are doing and you will then be accountable to them and to yourself.

Lifestyle

Are you willing to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier in order to breakthrough to a healthier, slimmer you? Are you committed to decrease your alcohol and/or tobacco intake and consistently increase your level of exercise? Becoming the person we want to become means not always doing things that those around us want to do. When we set the example of improvement, others will follow. When we follow the crowd, no one advances – no one progresses.

Are there are roadblocks in our way? Probably. Are there are challenges that we must overcome? More than likely. There are decisions that, for our own well-being need to be made and then kept. The only way we will find out if we are strong enough to overcome our weaknesses is to commit to change, then stick to our commitments.
